Registered Vascular Tech- 40 hours per week Essential Job
Responsibilities:
1.
Review patient's medical history and physician's instructions.
Ensure that there is an order for the test to be done.
If patient is referred from a physician outside our practice, ensure you have a current script.
2.
Prepare equipment for the procedure.
Select patient from the modality work list.
Select appropriate equipment settings.
Confirm you have the correct patient by asking patient to state his/her name and date of birth.
Explain the procedure to patient.
Direct the patient to move into positions that will provide the best view.
3.
Accurate knowledge and performance of vascular doppler ultrasound examinations including:
o Carotid arteries, temporal arteries, jugular vein evaluation o Upper extremity arterial, graft and stent surveillance, venous evaluation, and vein mapping o Dialysis access (AVF, AVG, Ellipsys) evaluation o Abdominal aorta, IVC, renal arterial and mesenteric duplex, graft and stent surveillance o Lower extremity arterial, graft and stent surveillance, venous evaluation, venous reflux, vein mapping o Upper and lower extremity PVR evaluation 4.
All evaluations are to be consistent with IAC accredited lab examination protocols.
5.
Prepare preliminary report in Fuji for the physician.
Before finalizing report, review to ensure demographic and report accuracy.
6.
Comply with safety, infection control, and quality improvement policies/procedures.
7.
Comply with direction given by Lead Ultrasound Tech and Mange Education:
1.
High school diploma.
2.
Certificate in diagnostic medical sonography from an accredited institution or armed forces.
3.
Registered in vascular ultrasound technology; RVT or RVS.
Experience:
1.
Minimum of two years experience.
2.
Proficient in:
Carotid Duplex, Renal Artery Duplex, Peripheral Arterial Duplex (bpg, stents), Peripheral Venous Duplex (DVT, vein mapping, insufficiency) and ultrasound guidance for venous ablation procedure Location:
